Vain is an experimental action built on the manipulation of different rusty metal objects that have holes and/or are tube shaped. They are, mostly, pieces collected in an important geological area in South East England, a place, where nature and biodiversity merge with numerous residues of human interventions from other times. Above all, the core of this proposal is the sensory contact with inorganic matter in a state of decomposition, which in its singularity is capable of retaining fragments of memory from a non-human point of view. The choice of focusing on empty spaces (openings or holes) in/side solid blocks is due to the intention of working with gaps that function as ‘portals’; intermediate zones that mark the passage, transfer and propagation of hidden and secret ‘information’. The inside and the outside. Through gesture and physical contact with these objects, the performance seeks to establish a sensitive link of communication between two bodies - one human and the other inanimate - through sound. This is a channeling exercise, facilitating the emergence of certain frequencies, vibrations and sounds.

Vão é uma ação experimental construída à partir da manipulação de diferentes objetos de metal enferrujado que possuem orifícios e/ou forma de tubo. Na sua maioria, peças coletadas numa importante área geológica no sudeste da Inglaterra. Um local, onde a natureza e a biodiversidade se fundem com numerosos resíduos e intervenções humanas de outros tempos. Sobretudo, o núcleo desta proposta está no contato sensorial com uma matéria inorgânica em estado de decomposição, que na sua singularidade é capaz de reter fragmentos de memória de um ponto de vista não humano. A escolha por objetos constituídos por espaços vazios no interior de blocos sólidos se dá pela intenção de trabalhar com as aberturas ou buracos. Nesse contexto, essas lacunas funcionam como ‘portais’; zonas intermediárias que fazem a passagem, a transferência e a propagação de 'informações' ocultas e segredadas. O dentro e o fora. Através do contato, do gesto, do sopro e do manuseio desses objetos, essa performance busca estabelecer um elo sensível de comunicação entre dois corpos – um humano e outro inanimado – por meio do som. Um exercício de canalização, na qual, emergem certas frequências, vibrações e sonoridades.
